Here are some burglary prevention tips to keep in mind for your home:

Lock your car doors, even if it’s parked in the garage. Thieves love the false sense of security that a garage can provide, especially if the keys in the car or on the wall just beside the door.

Shed some light on the subject. A dark home says “Rob Me!” to potential burglars. So keeping a few lights on the outside and inside your home at night, as well as installing motion sensor-activated floodlights outside, can go a long way toward eliminating the deepest dark shadows that  break-in.

If you have an alarm system, use it! It is there to make sure your home is safe when you are at home, at work and play. Even turn it on when you are home. Many alarms have a “Stay” feature!.

Advertise your video surveillance system. A picture is worth a 1000 words and iIf a thief thinks his face might show up on camera, he’ll often move on to the next place. Many homes are not only getting alarms but are also having cameras installed. The marriage of cameras with your alarm system makes your home impenetrable.7 Things Homeowners Never Consider About Home Security
